How we make money.
Our guides are free. We earn money when a reader chooses to become a customer of a company we recommend. Here is the full picture, in line with the Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guides.
Affiliate partnerships
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and request information from, or become a customer of, that company, we may be paid. Payment may be a flat fee for a qualified information request, a percentage of a purchase, or both. Any payment comes from the company, not from you. We don't charge readers anything.
How paid links are labeled
- Pages with paid links carry a notice near the top, and paid buttons say "Paid link" nearby.
- Outbound partner links are marked
rel="sponsored", as Google's search guidelines require for paid links, so search engines know they are advertising. - Partner recommendations always link to this page.
What payment does not change
- Our guides explain costs, risks, and alternatives, whether or not that helps us earn money.
- Our quiz and calculators work the same way no matter which companies pay us, and the quiz is built to tell readers when a gold IRA isn't a good fit.
- Companies cannot pay to change what we write, and they don't review our guides before publication.
